Message in a Bottle Installation is a social sculpture featuring cascades of plastic milk bottles, each with unique labels designed by Sea Worriers (students from Coast Seniors Centre and CP Art Therapy). Some bottles contain plants, representing nature’s resilience to environmental harm. Despite using mainly single-use plastics, the installation offers strong visual appeal. Created with artist Belinda Piggott, the project was exhibited in 2022-23 at Eden Unearthed, Macquarie Park.

The Message on a Bottle installation featured digital prints derived from Sea Worriers’ artworks, which were used to create new labels for 150 single-use milk bottles. This installation highlights concerns regarding plastic usage, consumption habits, recycling processes, chemical waste management, and the environmental health of the world’s oceans. 2021 Coast Seniors Centre, Little Bay

Sea Worriers began as a community art project in my Coast Seniors Centre art class, later expanding to include 21 artists from groups like Centennial Park Art Therapy. The group explored environmental and ocean health, completing 150 canvases (20x20cm each) over 18 months, including during lockdowns, with members contributing between 1 and 20 pieces each. 2021 Coast Seniors Centre, Little Bay
